A year ago, I didn’t even dream of such a dream, and now I’m the same girl traveling on her own. One hot July day, I sat down, thought, and dreamed of tickets to Madrid. Well, since I have a whole week there, why not see something else. Thus my heart chose Porto. Thanks to you, tripmydream, I learned a lot about these cities, chose a few places to visit, took into account some of the subtleties, and then lived with expectation. I bought tickets for 4 months, and chose hostels as housing. When choosing, I paid attention to the location – so that in the city center, so as not to waste time on the road, and of course, I also looked at the rating.

And now – December, the backpack is packed, and I'm waiting for the magic. Honestly, I wasn't afraid at all. And what to be afraid of – the same people are everywhere 🙂 Madrid in December turned out to be warm, sunny, cozy. No crowds of tourists, as it was with me in June in Rome. I walked all day, but there was no desire to have time to see EVERYTHING. I wanted to remember that December sun without haste.

In Madrid, I tried a jackfruit burger for the first time. I also ate papaya – in Kyiv it is usually unripe and insanely expensive. I met a girl from Brazil who spoke Spanish, I spoke English, but this did not prevent us from understanding each other.

Next was Porto. Portugal is love at first sight and forever. Colorful houses, orange roofs, bridges, embankment, those winding streets. I rarely looked at the map, because at every turn I found something attracting attention. And, of course, OH, the Atlantic Ocean. Raging waves, fresh air, incredible color of the sky and golden sand. I overcame such a distance primarily for the sake of the ocean.
