COVID RESTRICTIONS ARE PARTIALLY REMOVED IN RUSSIA
Rospotrebnadzor stopped the restrictions imposed in Russia due to the coronavirus pandemic. Relevant information appeared on the official website of the department on July 1.
“Over the past four months, Russia has seen a steady decrease in the intensity of the COVID-19 epidemic process. The weekly incidence rate has decreased by more than 64 times (from a maximum of 907.6 in mid-February to the current 14.06) and is at its lowest level since the beginning of the pandemic,” Rospotrebnadzor explained the decision.
MASK REGIME CANCELED IN RUSSIA
After the publication of a message about the lifting of restrictions on the agency’s website, news began to appear in the media with headlines “All covid restrictions have been lifted in Russia.” However, this is apparently not the case (there are no official published documents on this yet)
According to the statement of the department, we are talking only about the “mask mode” and a number of other internal restrictions.
“Rospotrebnadzor suspends previously imposed restrictions, including the mask regime, a ban on catering at night, and a number of other measures,” the official statement on the Rospotrebnadzor website says.
ARE TESTS FOR RETURNING FROM ABROAD?
Strictly speaking, the news on the website of Rospotrebnadzor does not say anything about the abolition of the main restriction that worries tourists – PCR testing for unvaccinated Russians returning from abroad.
But the text of the press release contains the phrase: “in accordance with the decision of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Russian Federation, anti-epidemic measures for the timely detection of cases and measures to ensure monitoring of the epidemic process are maintained. measures to monitor the epidemic process”.
Therefore, from this phrase we can conclude that PCR testing of tourists returning to Russia has not yet been canceled, this requirement remains in force. Nevertheless, one should wait for the official publication of the full text of the order or decision of Rospotrebnadzor on the portal of legal information.
