DEOKSUGUN PALACE
Deoksugung Palace
Deoksugung, one of the five royal palaces in Seoul, which during the the existence of the Korean empire, Daehanjeguk was used as a residence for members of the imperial family – this is a classic for photographers.
Since Deoksugung is not only traditional Korean royal buildings combined with Western-style buildings, but also sophisticated landscapes, the atmosphere here is not solemn, but rather romantic and mysterious. The pictures are the same.
Where to take pictures? Of course, against the backdrop of the Sokchojong building, built in the neoclassical style of the 19th century. A green lawn is laid out next to it and a fountain gurgles. Together they form an idyllic landscape that will beautify your photos.
Seokjeong
Do not stop! Go to Jeongdongkil Street, better known as “Toldamkil Street”, which runs along Deoksugung Palace for 900 meters. The carriageway of Toldamkil is paved with asphalt, and the pedestrian part with clay tiles. Ginkgo and maple trees are densely planted along the street. Walking in these fabulously beautiful places is as pleasant as taking pictures.
Tip: The National Tourism Organization of Korea recommends visiting the palace in the fall, from late October to early November, if possible . After all, it is during the tangphun period, when the leaves of the trees turn red, yellow and gold, that the landscapes of the palace are especially attractive.
Note:near the palace, there is an observation deck of Cheongdong, as well as the Sesil Theater with an observation deck on the roof, from where beautiful views of the entire territory of Deoksugung Palace open up. From February 7, 2020, due to the coronavirus situation, Cheongdong Viewpoint is temporarily closed to the public.
