This summer, tour operators see a noticeable increase in demand among Muscovites for country holidays – not only in the Moscow region, but also in regions neighboring the capital – there it is closer to nature, and often cheaper. The TOP-5 in terms of demand includes Tver, Ryazan, Vladimir and Yaroslavl regions. What hotels are popular with Moscow residents there, and how much does it cost to spend a weekend in them at the end of August before the school year?
“When choosing a country holiday, Muscovites have already “erased” the borders of regions: if tourists talk about a trip near Moscow, they consider hotels at a distance of up to three or four hours away, considering traffic jams. Therefore, holidays in high-quality hotels in the regions bordering the Moscow region are very popular this summer, ”experts of the FUN&SUN tour operator say.
The Dolphin tour operator also sees an increase in requests for hotels in the neighboring regions of Moscow. At the same time, the demand is high not only for “classic” country hotels and resorts, but also for new objects such as designer boutique and eco-hotels, as well as glampings in nature, Delphine experts add.
The choice of quality hotels in the regions adjacent to Moscow is wide. Country hotels in central Russia generally follow trends, improving their service. All hotels with good infrastructure located in the regions adjacent to the Moscow region are in demand, the press service of the national tour operator ALEAN specifies.
“In some cases, it can be said that individual objects in the nearby regions of the Middle Strip provide better services, in comparison with similarly priced accommodation facilities in the Moscow Region,” ALEAN emphasizes. And the experts of the tour operator “Multitour” believe that in some cases the difference in the cost of a holiday comparable in quality in the regions neighboring Moscow can be about 20-30% cheaper than in the Moscow region.
But, experts emphasize that for high-level hotels and, in particular, those located relatively close to Moscow (for example, in the Tver region), the difference in price, as a rule, is already insignificant.
In general, the growth in demand for the neighboring regions of Moscow, according to experts in the tour operator market, is now associated not only with the search for “prices below the Moscow region.” An important role is also played by the desire of tourists to go to more secluded, intimate places away from the capital and closer to relatively untouched nature, rivers, lakes, or local attractions and art objects.
WHICH NEIGHBOR REGIONS ARE MOST POPULAR WITH MUSCOVITES FOR COUNTRY HOLIDAYS
Moscow region borders on 7 regions of Russia, namely Tver, Yaroslavl, Vladimir, Ryazan, Kaluga, Tula, Smolensk regions.
According to the three domestic tour operators surveyed, the infrastructure for out-of-town recreation is now most developed in the Tver region, it is now the most popular among Muscovites.
“Tver region can be singled out separately, which is connected with Moscow by a convenient transport network. Tver hotels can be reached in a little more than an hour by car on a toll road, or in 1.5-2 hours on the Lastochka, following in the direction of St. Petersburg. Sometimes it takes longer to get to a hotel in the Moscow region, ”ALEAN emphasizes.
After the Tver region, in the TOP-5 regions with a large number of quality country hotels that Muscovites ask, Kaluga, Ryazan, Vladimir and Yaroslavl regions are in the rating of tour operators.
In addition, they emphasize in Multitour ”, the regions farther from Moscow, which can be reached by car, are also in demand: this summer, for example, these are the Kostroma and even the Bryansk regions.
