We previously reported that free travel expired in October, but after a flurry of criticism, local authorities decided to slightly extend this opportunity.

Ukrainians will be able to ride all the vehicles owned by the Vienna transport company Wiener Linien (metro, tram, bus), as well as ÖBB trains running in the Austrian capital, until the end of October for free.

Discussions also continue on the possibility of further offering discounted monthly travel tickets to Ukrainians who are now in Austria.

It is also known that free travel will operate not only in Vienna. The transport association Verkehrsverbund Ost-Region (VOR) has approved a unified decision on the mobility of refugees from Ukraine: free travel on all types of public transport VOR (including Wiener Linien) will operate as a transitional solution in the Eastern Region of Austria (Vienna, Lower Austria, Burgenland) until 31 October 2022.

According to rbc.ua.

We also recall that the Spanish authorities have decided to extend the free travel by trains of the Renfe national network for at least the whole of 2023.
