Saudi Arabia continues to amaze. In a few years it will be possible to go skiing in this country. The future ski resort will be the first in the Persian Gulf and one of the most stylish in the world. Here are the details of this megaproject.
THE SKI RESORT WILL BE LOCATED 50 KM FROM THE RED SEA
Saudi Arabia will host the 2029 Asian Winter Games. One of the main sports arenas of these competitions will be the Trojena ski resort, which will be built by 2026 in the city of the future NEOM.
According to the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, the year-round Trojena resort will appear 50 kilometers from the coast of the Gulf of Aqaba – in the region where the mountain range with the highest peaks in Saudi Arabia (approximately 2600 m. above sea level) is located.
In winter, the temperature in this mountainous area drops below zero, and the average year-round temperature at the foot of the mountains is about 10 degrees lower than in other parts of Saudi Arabia.
SAUDI RESORT WILL BE YEAR-ROUND SEASON
Trojena will occupy an area of almost 60 square meters. km and will consist of six functional areas, each of which is designed in accordance with its purpose. For example, a ski village with apartments, chalets and other Alpine-style facilities will be built to accommodate guests.

The hotels will be located next to the ski slope overlooking the lake. For wealthy tourists, luxurious chalets with panoramic views will be built, where they will be served by a personal butler.

Ski slopes of various difficulty levels will be built on the slopes of Trojena: they will be designed according to the best world standards. It will be possible to ski on the slopes of Trojena all year round: the ski cover will be preserved thanks to maintaining the temperature regime and artificial snow.
The main winter skiing season in Trojena is scheduled from December to March. In addition to skiing, guests will be offered snowboarding and ice skating.

In the summer season, the resort will offer mountain hiking and cycling routes, yoga, rock climbing and triathlon, walks on the lake. A laboratory will be built to observe the stars.

AT ANY TIME OF THE YEAR YOU CAN GET DOWN FROM THE MOUNTAINS AND GO TO THE RED SEA
Health resorts, shops and restaurants will open for apre-ski. Lots of events are on the horizon, including winter fashion week, a light show, concerts by international stars and even an international film festival.

At any time of the year, Trojena guests will be able to go to the Red Sea coast, where several seaside resorts will be built.
According to the Saudi authorities, in 2030 Trojena will attract up to 700,000 tourists and bring to the country's budget 800 million dollars a year. The resort will create 10,000 jobs.
